![]() ![]() While fans of the video game certainly enjoyed Nathan Fillion's take on Drake in the fan video, Tom Holland's portrayal of the character is decidedly different. While not critically acclaimed, Uncharted did very well with audiences, and a lot of that is due to Tom Holland's performance in the titular role of Nathan Drake. In an interview Nathan Fillion explained that the problem was likely the sheer amount of time the Uncharted adaptation had been in development: Back in 2018, Fillion even starred in a popular Uncharted fan film production from director Allan Ungar as Drake, with Avatar's Stephen Lang as his partner/mentor, Victor "Sully" Sullivan. But other actors were soon attached to Uncharted, including notable names such as Chris Pratt and Mark Wahlberg, before Sony eventually settled on the film being a prequel to the games and cast Tom Holland as a younger Nathan Drake. Around 2009, Nathan Fillion began a campaign announcing his interest in the role, gathering large amounts of support from fans of the video game series. The support was understandable, as it's incredibly easy to see Fillion's resemblance to Drake both in appearance and in personality after only a few minutes of playing the games. Halo 5: Guardians is set for release on 27 October.Uncharted was in development since 2008, with a number of restarts and delays and a variety of directors, writers, and actors attached to play Nathan Drake. In Halo 4 – 343 Industries first fully independent Halo game – comedians Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter cameo as two marines talking about unions, rugs, and waking ancient aliens from their slumber. The three lead actors from cult sci-fi TV series Firefly appeared in Halo 3 (with Nathan Fillion going on to have a full role in Halo 3: ODST, to which he returns in Halo 5), as did voice actors from beloved Machinima series Red vs Blue. The Halo series is no stranger to fun cameos. Microsoft couldn't be drawn on the nature of the cameo, but given most to date have been voicing non-player characters (NPCs) that would be a fair bet. "It's a bit of an Easter egg though, so you'll have to really be looking for it." He's a big fan of Halo and we're big fans of his, so it's always fun when these kinds of things work out," said a Microsoft spokesperson. "Fabricio Werdum makes a small cameo appearance in Halo 5: Guardians. Following a brief mention of the cameo at Gamescom, IBTimes UK sought clarification from Microsoft. Werdum's cameo – arranged and recorded before he beat Cain Velasquez for the championship in June – is only a small one, but an interesting little Easter egg for fans of the fighter to hunt down.
